How To Clean A Hat (Easy)

When I go out for a run, I like to wear a hat to keep the sun off of my face. The downside of doing this is that I sweat so much that I’m left with smelly and stained headwear afterward. In my efforts to clean these workout hats every few weeks, I’ve warped a few of them permanently by washing them in the wrong way.

I’ve learned from my past failures though, and have since found a simple way to launder them in a way that doesn’t ruin their shape or their color.

The method is as follows:

Be sure to clean the sink thoroughly beforehand!

1) Add 1-2 tablespoons of laundry detergent to a sealed sink or bucket while it fills with warm water.

2) Submerge the hat(s) fully and let them sit for 45 minutes.

3) Remove the hat(s) from the water and allow them to air dry (this will take a few hours.)

And just like that, the hat(s) are once again clean and ready to be worn!
